The Pioneer Digital DJ Battle came to a close last month. The event, held at Raven, right here in the Philippines, brought together the best DJs in the region in a contest of skills, talent and pure music.

The milestone two-day event saw contestants from nine countries come together and bring their signature sounds to try and win over the crowd and the judges’ favor. It was also the perfect venue for the brand to showcase their DDJ SX2 controller and the HDJ C70 headphones, as well as Kuvo, a music application that caters particularly to DJs and EDM fans.

The competition had a panel of highly-qualified judges who are themselves DJs, with some of them former Pioneer Digital DJ participants and champions. In the end, it was DJ Pick Up of Thailand who took the crown. First runner up went to Malaysia’s DJ Ben Cracko, Second Runner-up went to Singapore’s DJ A Tran, and our very own DJ Mecha took third runner up.

This year’s Pioneer Digital DJ championship was a resounding success, and proof that EDM is very much alive and well.
