As soon as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella named the new head for Xbox, Phil Spencer, a Microsoft Studios leader and Xbox game dude, already made a bold statement meant for Xbox owners across the globe:
“This past year has been a growth experience both for me and for the entire Xbox team. We’ve taken feedback, made our products better and renewed our focus on what is most important, our customer. Our mission is to build a world-class team, work hard to meet the high expectations of a passionate fan base, create the best games and entertainment and drive technical innovation. As we continue forward, this renewed focus and mission will be a foundational part of how I lead the Xbox program.”
Spencer, in his recent interview with Engadget, pointed out that Xbox will undergo a reorganization where capturing the hearts of the gamers will be the main priority and will “be something that drives the organization.”
The new Xbox head would not only be in-charge of the development of Xbox One and Xbox 360, but of other departments such as the Xbox Live, Xbox Music, Xbox Video and Microsoft Studios.
Spencer also said that the company is currently focusing on the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), an annual trade fair for the computer and video games industry, on June, where they will unveil the first set of ID@Xbox games and other major game releases.
