BrotherBrother International Philippines Corporation (BIPC) recently teamed up with the Philippines Business for Social Progress (PBSP) to plant 575 seedlings at Sitio Binayoyo, Barangay Calawis in Antipolo City.

This collaborative effort, led by Glenn Hocson, BIPC president, is a move to save the Marikina Watershed. Brother employees and PBSP volunteers worked hand in hand to plant hundreds of seedlings that in time can help prevent flooding. This is part of Brother Philippines’ Marikina Watershed Project, which started in 2010. This reforestation project is in line with the Brother Group’s commitment to contribute to the betterment of the environment. A total of 5,000 seedlings was planted in the area since the project kicked-off.

Following the tree planting activity, Brother Philippines and PBSP turned-over of the farming equipments to the community. The equipments–a shredder, mixer and water pump–will help the community in maintaining and growing the seedlings that were planted in their area.
