With more Filipinos increasingly warming up to contactless transactions, Araneta City encourages patrons to utilize the contactless payment modes and online channels of its business units and tenants. Since 2017, the City of Firsts has been expanding its transaction options with the public to include contactless payment and online booking.

Subject to the lifting of applicable restrictions currently in place due to the ECQ, those who wish to book tickets at the Araneta City Busport, Smart Araneta Coliseum, and New Frontier Theater through Ticketnet, Gateway Cineplex, and Ali Mall Cinemas may again conveniently buy online. They may also pay over-the-counter using tap debit/credit cards, or through QR mobile payment apps PayMaya and GCash. These are likewise available when purchasing at Snaxx for our moviegoers.

Purchases at Pizza Hut (available with contactless online delivery), Dairy Queen, and Taco Bell have also been made safe and convenient with QR mobile payment apps PayMaya and GCash.

Hundreds of retail outlets within Araneta City also have contactless payment systems in place.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the need for businesses to adapt safe and convenient contactless payment options without need to handle physical cash. This allows us to better reach and serve our customers in this time of unprecedented crisis. It’s good that Araneta City is prepared for this situation. We advise our customers to, whenever possible, utilize digital payment channels for safety and convenience,” said John Castelo, senior vice president of the Araneta Group.

Araneta City is looking at broadening the scope of its contactless transactions. The City of Firsts continues to strengthen its partnerships with various electronic payment channels to provide more choices to its customers and retail tenants.
