    Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), unveiled the refreshed Honda Civic at Greenbelt 3 in Makati City. With the release of Honda’s third model for 2014, Honda’s automobile business unit in the Philippines is unstoppable to regain its strong market presence.

    With its distinctive character that is present all throughout the years, the new Civic introduced today further improve Civic’s values of spirited driving, advanced technologies, and premium and sporty styling.

    The new Civic is available in both 2.0 and 1.6 liter engine displacements, both mated with 5-speed automatic transmission and capable to deliver maximum power output of 155 ps at 6,500 rpm for the 2.0 liter variant and 141 ps at 5,500 rpm for the 1.8 liter variants—both engineered to deliver spirited driving performance.

    Touted as the “More Sporty Civic”, it is reinforced by its three major characteristics—sporty design, advanced features in fuel economy, entertainment and safety; and fun with dynamic driving and handling. Honda has also decided to offer the Civic in three variants, two of which will come with genuine MUGEN and Modulo aero kits fitted as standard. The 2.0 EL MUGEN variant comes with MUGEN accessories—sports grille, front under spoiler, rear under spoiler, side under spoilers, wing-type trunk spoiler and a MUGEN emblem. On the other hand, the 1.8 E Modulo variant sports Modulo front under spoiler, rear under spoiler, side under spoilers, wing-type tailgate spoiler, and Modulo emblem. It is also comes with a new honeycomb grille with noticeable single bar accent, which it also shares with the base variant 1.8 S. Moreover, the new Civic now comes with a newly designed 16-inch three-dimensional, multi-spoke alloy wheels for its best selling 1.8 E variant to create an exciting balance between aerodynamic body styling and sportier stance, while the 2.0 EL MUGEN sports the signature 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.

    Once you hop into the new Civic, you will be greeted by the high-tech two-tiered dashboard carefully crafted for interactive dialogue between the Civic and the driver resulting to excellent ergonomics. With your hands steady on the steering wheel, experience the thrill of more spirited driving at your fingertips with the Civic’s race-inspired and fun-to-use paddle shift technology that delivers superb driving pleasure of a manual transmission. For a more relaxed driving pace on long highway stretches, the cruise control is added to the new Civic.

    Multi-functional steering controls are added as well, for more convenience and intuitive operation. These controls allow the driver to operate the Civic’s advanced technologies such as the intelligent multi information display (i-MID) which shows information such as the fuel consumption and vehicle settings. An addition to the already advanced interior equipment of the Civic is the new 7-inch touch screen display audio, where it minimizes the use of buttons making it easier to operate while radiating a premium feel. The 7-inch touch screen display audio features functions such as hands-free telephone (HFT) and audio streaming via Bluetooth connectivity. The new Civic is also equipped with different ports such as auxiliary, 2 USB slots, and the new HDMI port that lets you connect and mirror your smartphone on the touch screen display audio.
