The Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the country, has launched the premium 2 Series Active Tourer—a high-end multi-purpose vehicle perfect for practical families with an active lifestyle.

“The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer represents a number of milestones for BMW in the country and across the globe,” says ACC president Maricar Parco. “With the launch of this new vehicle, we are not only engaging an exciting new market, but also introducing several innovations that have never been seen in the BMW portfolio before.”

The 2 Series Active Tourer takes an athletic stance, with contours on the high hood leading to the iconic double kidney grille flanked by twin LED headlights. These are complemented by powerful sickle lines, wide rear wheel arches, L-shaped lights, sizeable tailgate, low sill, and BMW’s signature Hofmeister kink for added dynamism. The whole car measures in at 4,342 x 1,800 x 1,555mm (L x W x H) with a 2,670mm long wheelbase.

Inside is a spacious interior made possible by the raised roofline and lack of rear differential. The driver and shotgun seats are elevated for more legroom for the rear passengers. The seats are also foldable 40:20:40, making the vehicle an efficient cargo mover despite its size.

Under the hood, the 2 Series Active Tourer has a 3-cylinder petrol engine with BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology delivering 136hp @ 4400rpm and 220Nm of torque @ 1250 to 4150rpm. The power plant is mated to a Steptronic Transmission and can go from 0 to 100kph in 9.2 seconds, all the while consuming only 4.6 liters of fuel per 100km. The eco-friendliness extends to its low carbon emissions of 119g/km.

Additionally, BMW’s EfficientDynamics features such as Auto Start/Stop function, coasting function, brake energy regeneration, friction-reduced wheel bearings, and low-rolling resistance tires are on hand to ensure you get the most out of every drop of fuel. Finally, a Driver Experience Control switch enables drivers to change drive settings to ECO PRO, SPORT or COMFORT mode to suit any driving need.

Interested customers can check out the 2 Series Active Tourer at BMW dealerships throughout the country.
