MobilityCAC Launches the New Kia Picanto

The Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), the exclusive distributor of KIA vehicles in the country, recently launched the all-new third-generation Kia Picanto last August 8, 2017 at KIA’s new showroom in SM Megamall. First debuted at the 2017 Geneva Motorshow in Switzerland, the introduction in the country brings a fresh new way for Filipinos to explore the country’s cities.

Kia’s new urban delight is powered by a Kappa 1.2, in-line 4 cylinder, Multi Point Injection Engine with a maximum output of 82hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 121Nm at 4,000 rpm.

Preserving a familiar look,  yet enabling the introduction of  new elements, the exterior vibrantly flaunts a playful and dynamic character, perfect for the everyday traveller. At the front of the car is Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille that meets its headlights. On sides are modern and bold body lines that  are able fortify a more assertive stance. And for the wheels, we see an increase of 15mm. Despite sporting a new and modern look, the Picanto is still able to preserve its previous generation’s length, which in turn maintains a mature and sophisticated subcompact presence.

The increase of the wheelbase, and the preservation of length, resulted to an increase in the Picanto’s interior space, for increased comfort. Joining the evident overall space increase in the headroom, legroom, and shoulder room department, the vehicle also sports a new horizontal design to further highlight the increase. Adding to this in an interior design,  that bags on a sophisticated and modern look. Inside we see  durable and high-quality plastic, a sculpted dashboard, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Additional features of the all-new Picanto include an improved chassis for a more balanced driving experience, better motor driven power steering, a steering wheel mounted trip computer, LED daytime running lights, and many more.

The Kia Picanto retails for PHP 625,000 for the 1.0L MT SL variant,  PHP 685,000 for the 1.2L AT SL, and  PHP 787,000 for the  1.2L AT GT.

Providing a fresh driving experience, the performance-oriented 5-seater GT-Line trim brings to the market a fusion of pleasure, stability, and handling.
