Toyota Motor Philippines recently added another member to their environment friendly lineup with the freshly imported Prius C. This hybrid subcompact comes bearing Toyota’s signature Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) for a clean city-farer perfect for practical drivers.
The Prius C struts a newly styled front bumper with an integrated radiator grille, multi-reflector front foglamps, 4-lamp halogen headlamps, and mirrors with integrated turn signal lights. Inside are new color trims to match a 3.5-inch multi-information display with a new navigation feature. Other comforts include power windows and doorlocks, automatic climate control, push start system, cruise control, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen entertainment system.
The Prius C comes with various safety features, including Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control for safe cornering without fear of sliding; and an Emergency Brake Signal that rapidly flashes the LED rear brake lamps when full-braking at extreme speeds.
Running the show is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder 1NZ-FXE VVT-I Atkinson cycle engine compliant with EURO V emission regulations. It is mated to an Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with ECO and EV mode settings and is capable of giving off a maximum 73Ps @ 4,800rpm and a maximum pulling power of 111Nm @ 4,000rpm. It intelligently switches between using the gasoline and electric motors based on driving conditions for a comfortable and responsive experience with less fuel costs and toxic emissions.
Four color choices are available for the all-new Prius C, namely silver metallic, yellow mica metallic, cool soda metallic, and orange pearl. Additionally, the nameplate also ships in four variants: the Prius C Full Option (white pearl) sells for PHP 1,602,000; Prius C Full Option is tagged at PHP 1,587,000; Prius C Standard (white pearl) with a ticket price of PHP 1,552,000; and the Prius C Standard that ships at PHP 1,537,000.
