    At an exclusive event at their BGC dealership, Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc., the official distributor of Volkswagen in the Philippines held a special preview of their soon-to-be-launched mid-size luxury sedan.

    Coming from a rich heritage of German engineering and design, the Passat has sold more than 22 million vehicles worldwide since it first rolled off the production line 42 years ago. Recently awarded the 2015 European Car of the Year, Volkswagen Philippines is confident that this luxury mid-size sedan will make a dent in its segment in the Philippine market.VW-2015-Passat_013

    “The introduction of the award-winning Passat will become the biggest product launch of the year for Volkswagen Philippines. With its formal unveiling on October 21, the Passat will be offered at a price range between P2.25 million and P2.75 million,” said John Philip Orbeta, Volkswagen Philippines’ President and CEO.VW-2015-Passat_005

    Volkswagen Philippines will be offering the Passat in two trim levels, both powered by VW’s efficient 2.0 TSI engine producing 220Ps @ 4500 – 6200 rpm and 350 Nm of torque @ 1500 – 4400 rpm, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG).

    The full-spec’d “Business Edition” comes with all the bells and whistles including LED projector headlights, 18″ alloy wheels, Adaptive Chassis Control, 12-way electric front seats, an 8-inch TFT touchscreen head unit with built-in navigation system, rear-view camera, Active Info Display gauges, and a panoramic sunroof.VW-2015-Passat_002 VW-2015-Passat_003 VW-2015-Passat_006

    The “Highline” variant is sans the sunroof and with slightly less tech, but still equipped with standard issue 3-zone Climatronic Air Conditioning, Park Distance Control, XDS Differential Lock, “Keyless-Go” Entry (KESSY), 8-speaker Audio System, and iPod, USB, and Bluetooth Connectivity.

    All the Passat units shall be coming straight from Germany to Volkswagen showrooms in the Philippines, and shall be available after the October 21 official launch.VW-2015-Passat_007

    The available exterior/interior color combinations of the Passat are crimson red/St. Tropez, oryx white or iridium grey metallic/titanium black, and deep black pearl or black oak brown/natural brown.
