UMA Racing Yamaha Philippines solidified their place bid after crucial placings at the 7th round of the 2019 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

Team veteran Masato “The Chairman” Fernando gave the UMA Racing Yamaha Philippines team 16 much-needed points after placing third in the first race despite starting at the rear of the pack.  McKinley Kyle “The Wonderboy” Paz on the other hand, finished sixth and added another 10 points to the Filipino squad.

The team, however, failed to repeat the same performance in the second race. Paz fell to 16th place while Fernando was almost at the rear in 20th place. Despite the poor second race finishes, the 26 points from the first race had solidified the team’s bid for a podium finish. A total of 139 points placed Team Uma Racing Yamaha Philippines third overall in the team ranking.

With an amazing performance, Paz once again reclaimed the lead in the drivers’ standing finishing the seventh round at 121 points two points clear from the second place.  As the ARRC leader, Paz heroically defended his title, making him the first-ever Filipino racer to win the Asian Road Racing Championship UB150 Category.

The team is supported by Yamaha Motor Philippines Inc., UMA Racing, Racing Boy, Aracer, Galfer Philippines, Nasty Port Flow, KOSO, YouAll, Pro-Liner, Kushitani, NGK, and RK.
