Beginners in photography will revel in Canon’s recently-announced EOS 800D, a lightweight camera with impressive specifications for its class.
Weighing in at a mere 485 grams, the 800D carries a Dual Pixel CMOS auto focus (DAF) system that constantly tracks moving subjects, assuring users accurately focused photos of anything from portraiture to sport photography. Its 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor coupled with the latest DIGIC 7 image processor gives high resolution photos with stunning clarity and definition. Its ISO settings range from 100 to 25,600, allowing it to take clear photos even in low light without sacrificing shutter speed.
The 800D can shoot video at full 1080p resolution at a smooth 60 fps. To make things better for aspiring filmmakers or documentarists, the camera is one of the first in Canon’s EOS series to have the Movie Digital IS feature built in. It electronically compensates for camera shakes through an internal gyroscopic sensor for better image stability.
Constantly on the move? No worries. The DSLR can connect to devices via Wi-Fi and NFC, so users can quickly backup and upload their images on the fly. The 800D also supports the Bluetooth low energy technology (BLE) which can connect the camera to a capable device without putting too much of a dent on battery life.
