According Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac tech website, Apple is planning to upgrade the Apple Watch 2. A video camera and new wireless technology will be added on its release in 2016.

The video camera will be installed at the top of the bezel so that users could easily use their watch to conduct FaceTime calls. On the other hand, the new wireless technology, will be “tether-less,” so as to let the new Apple Watch to function without the iPhone’s assistance on sending emails and text messages. But for greater storage of data, the apple watch 2 will still need the accompaniment of the iPhone.

In addition, Apple is also considering to produce more models in the “$1,000 to $10,000 range” because more consumers are looking for more affordable watches with key features.

Apple demonstrated the watchOS 2 at the recently concluded Worldwide Developers Conference. The watchOS 2 lets the users answer FaceTime audio calls. The video capability is what they are developing for the upcoming Apple Watch 2 in 2016.

As a reminder, Gurman says that this information is still on the process and there has not been any confirmation yet for the features of the Apple Watch 2.
