Want to cheer for our boys in blue/white as they take on the world but don’t have the time nor resources to catch their games live (Curse you, different time zones!)?
Fret no more as Smart Communications, Inc. recently launched their Viewstream app that will allow you to witness in real-time Gilas Pilipinas’ matches no matter where you are as long as you have your mobile with you. Now you can sit in traffic and still testify to the brevity and heart the national team exhibits every trip down the hardcourt.
You can download Viewstream for free on Google Play and use your Smart, Sun Cellular, or Talk ‘N Text number to sign up. Among the channels listed there, only the Viewstream channel streams the games without ads. The app charges PHP 15 a day from either your prepaid load or postpaid bill so there’s no need for a credit card. It works both on Wi-Fi and data connection, but the latter has standard data charges if you’re not on a data plan or package, on top of the PHP 15 fee.
There’s also the option to view the games for free but with advertisements via the TV5 channel, and watch basketball replays through the Aksyon TV channel. Scheduled news and entertainment programs can also be accessed for free through the app, just like watching television.
