ABS-CBN Business Development head Paolo Pineda, said “Sometimes people don’t have the chance to go out and shop for themselves for things they need at home. We are offering consumers better service and better options as life becomes more mobile and hectic,”

“TV home shopping is not something new to the Filipino consumer. We’ve also noticed the proliferation of online shopping sites which is quite similar to what we want to do, because it’s really about another option to the mall, to your local neighborhood store,” Pineda further elaborated.

A CJ O president and CEO Eddie Bak conveyed his commitment to serve the Filipino customers efficiently. As a country with a strong market and growing potential the Philippines cannot be missed.

“It is important for CJ O to be present in such a young and dynamic market like the Philippines, and being here is both challenging and exciting for the company. We want to introduce an innovative retail model that allows Filipino consumers to conveniently shop for high-quality products at affordable prices,” Bak said.

Started airing on October 15, the O Shopping Channel banks on the concept of ‘infotainment’ and has received good response from viewers and callers. Pineda expressed optimism on the venture as orders already started coming in during O Shopping Channel’s test broadcast.

Currently, there are ten products exclusively sold on O Shopping in the Philippines and is on its way to cater a wider selection of products, from kitchen to home, exercise, and beauty products trusted by customers worldwide.

“Eventually we will serve what the market will demand. We will find a way to get feedback and comments from people who buy our products, as long as there is interest and a sizeable market,” Pineda further added.

Teleshoppers will be accommodated by dedicated call center agents, and can either pay cash on delivery or on mobile POS debit card and credit card (MasterCard and Visa).

Outside of Korea, CJ O Shopping is present in Shanghai, Tianjin, and Guangzhou in China, as well as in India, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and Turkey.

O Shopping airs around the clock daily on SkyCable and Destiny Channel 11, and airs programs on Studio 23, at 1-2AM and 5-6AM from Mondays to Fridays and at 1-2AM on Saturdays and Sundays, and on ABS-CBN Channel 2 after “Banana Nite” from Mondays to Fridays, after “Sports Unlimited” on Saturdays, and after “Sunday’s Best” on Sundays.
