This strains the ciliary muscle of the eye as it tries to adjust to the nearly invisible flickering, thus causing eye fatigue, headaches, and other health concerns when working long hours in front of the computer.

To address this concern, BenQ introduces a new technology for its computer monitors.

BenQ’s Flicker-free monitors employ a unique De-flickering Backlight Circuit Controller that eliminates flickering and, in effect, reduces the possibility of eyestrain.

Other features found in the new monitors that are favorable to eye health are: Senseye Reading Mode, which attempts to recreate the experience of reading books by adjusting color temperature and brightness levels of the monitor and balancing its contrast and sharpness; the Automatic Eye-Protect Sensor, which detects ambient light levels and adjusts the monitor brightness accordingly; and the Smart Reminder feature, which prompts users to take a break for a predetermined time interval to allow the user’s eyes to rest.

On top of these features, the display itself is built with anti-glare technology. Select models come with a height adjustment stand.

The first BenQ Flicker-free monitor, the 27-inch GW2760HS, is now globally available.
