Google cancels Android event because of Hurricane Sandy

Google was scheduled to unveil a new version of Android alongside two new Nexus devices tomorrow evening. We use the term “was” because Google has cancelled that event because of a nasty hurricane barreling down the east coast dubbed Sandy. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency, which put a kibosh on Google’s plans because the waterfront that el Goog was going to use for their Android event has been earmarked as an evacuation zone. Hopefully everyone weathers the hurricane ok – we can wait a bit longer for Google’s event.
