The bout for the much-coveted Anvil Award begins.

The country’s largest professional organization serving public relations and communications practitioners, Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), has just announced the call for entries to the 2014 Anvil Awards.

PRSP president Ramon R. Osorio and Anvil Awards Gold chairman and PRSP director Edwin P. Galvez in a joint statement said, “The Anvil Awards Gold will be our profession’s most distinguished awards that will recognize the role of public relations as an integral part of business and organizational success.”

Celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, the Anvil Awards now has two categories and six sub-categories covering public relations programs and tools.

This year, the most prestigious awards given to outstanding public relations campaigns in the industry have been given new names for better distinction among the various award levels. These are the Silver Anvil, the Gold Anvil, the Platinum Anvil and the Grand Anvil awards, which were previously known as the Anvil Award of Merit, Anvil Award of Excellence, Bronze Anvil Award and the Grand Anvil Award, respectively.

But, how do you win an Anvil Award? To help interested parties prepare entries for the competition, the PRSP will conduct seminars on ‘How to create  an Anvil-winning entry’ on September 12 and 19 and October 3, 2014 at 9:00am-11:00 pm, GMA Network Center. The series of talks and workshops will be conducted by some of the Anvil winners themselves. Seminar fee is PHP 500 per person for non-PRSP members.

Entries to the Anvil Awards may be submitted beginning October 1, 2014. For early birds, the first deadline is set on October 31, 2014 while final entries will be accepted until November 15, 2014. Also, public relations programs or tools launched or implemented between September 1, 2013 and September 20, 2014 are qualified to enter.

For more information, interested parties may contact the PRSP Secretariat at 632 9479; 0916 368; 0916 3689873 or e-mail [email protected].
