Cirque du Soleil is bringing the magnificent world of Avatar to our shores through a live stage spectacle never seen before.

Inspired by James Cameron’s legendary movie Avatar, Toruk – The First Flight is coming for the first time in the Philippines–first of its tours outside of North America and first in Asia. The show will run from June 23 to July 2, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Set 3000 years before human’s discovery of Pandora—and events shown in Avatar, Toruk – The First Flight immerses spectators in the fascinating world and culture of the Na’vi through the adventures of Omaticaya boys Ralu and Entu. Following a natural catastrophe that threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, the boys set out to save the Na’vi from this looming terror. Through their journey, they discover that Toruk, a predator that rules the Pandoran sky, is key to solving this dilemma. They go on a quest high up in the Floating Mountains to find and ride Toruk for the first time.

Given the vibrant arts and culture scene in the Philippines, Cirque du Soleil hopes move spectators through its visually stunning storytelling of Toruk – The First Flight. This live entertainment experience of James Cameron’s imaginary world, five years in the making, will feature a fusion of stunning visuals, puppetry, projection, cinematic score, and Cirque du Soleil’s signature, adrenaline-packed acrobatics.

Cirque has also enlisted the help of directors and multimedia innovators Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon to bring Pandora to life. The show will be narrated by a “Na’vi Storyteller” and will star new, unforgettable characters.

To provide an unmatched immersive multimedia experience for everyone in the audience, a dedicated app is also available for download via Google Play and App Store. The official app will enable audience members to be part of the spectacle with special effects, notifications, and more channeled through their smartphones during and after the performance.

Cirque du Soleil has partnered up with Globe Live for its Philippine leg of Toruk – The First Flight. For more information about the show, visit www.cirquedusoleil.com/toruk.
