    Andre and Benjie Paras

Andre Paras is no stranger to basketball. Following in the footsteps of one of PBA’s finest basketball players, (and his dad, at that) Benjie Paras, Andre sets on a journey to create a legacy of his own in the highly-celebrated ball game.

At a formidable 6’5” stance, the actor and basketball rookie started showing prowess at a young age. He was part La Salle Greenhills’s high school basketball varsity team and went on to play for the UP Fighting Maroons upon entering college. After his short stint at UP, the charmer is expected to join San Beda’s basketball team where his father serves as an assistant coach.

Andre expressed delight in having the privilege to share the court with his dad, “It’s kind of cool, actually. Playing with my dad has always been both a privilege and a pleasure. It brings me back to my childhood days when my dad was still teaching me how to dribble and shoot properly.”

“He [his dad] encouraged me to be just me, to be Andre. Because he said that it is only when I believe in myself and truly enjoy the game we both love that I can truly live be great at it,” he added.

    An award-winning heritage

Notably, the well-decorated San Beda Red Lions (won four straight NCAA championships) is also supported by electronics giant LG Electronics Philippines, a brand which Andre endorses.

Just like Andre, LG has time and again set the bar high, bagging awards after awards with its revolutionary devices.

At the recently concluded 2014 Red Dot Design Awards, the LG G3 was given the “Best of the Best” award after winning a total of nine awards in the Communication Design category of the prestigious award-giving body.

The 2014-2015 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards also gave LG G3 top ratings and named it the “European Advanced Smartphone” in its recently held awarding ceremonies in Berlin, Germany.

The LG G3 was praised for three key factors: its Quad HD display coupled with a seamless and minimalist graphic user interface, its 13MP rear shooter with Optical Image Stabilization Plus (OIS+) and a smartphone’s first laser auto focus, and a stunning floating arc design.

Endorsing for LG, Andre stated his admiration for the brand’s many innovations. “From my experience, performing at par with people’s expectations can be difficult at times because all eyes are on you,” said Andre. “But I must say, as a loyal LG user and advocate, the LG G3 really delivers and never fails to amaze me every day. It is a smartphone that has consistently performed beyond the ordinary.”
