    For the second time since its conception, Power Mac Center’s Pixelworx entitled ‘Cinemansanas’ 2017 is set to  go all out with activities that include a master class with award-winning film director,  Brillante Mendoza, an exciting short film competition, post-production workshops, up for grab film grants,  and in store-games. The celebration culminates with a much awaited grand movie premiere to be held at SM Mall of Asia Cinema.   

    To make Power Mac’s celebration a more meaningful one, Power Mac tapped the multinational awarded, Cannes Film Festival Best Director nominee and winner, Brillante Mendoza, to conduct Masterclass sessions. Inclusive of lessons on strategic film techniques and vital film concepts on acting, directing, and cinematography,  the masterclass will be be open to 23 lucky aspiring filmmakers. Deadline for applications is on July 30, 2017.

    To encourage filmmakers to push their creativity even further, and  break traditional film conventions,  Power Mac’s is holding a short film competition where videos shot and edited on Apple devices will be featured. Video submissions should be made specifically for Pixelworx: Cinemansanas “Do you have a Minute Film Competition” and should be submitted on or before August 25, 2017.  For assistance, Power Mac Center Apple certified trainers will be holding Post Production workshops on Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X. Slots are limited, so be sure to register! Participants will have the chance to win a MacBook Pro with Retina Display, an Ipad Pro, gift certificates worth PHP 100,000.     “For Pixelworx: Cinemansanas, our goal is to discover emerging filmmakers who can showcase originality, imagination, and the ability to engage audiences with masterpieces shared via social media – a space where stories never stand still and always move forward. We are challenging them to be brave, bold, and brilliant in their voice,” said Power mac marketing director, Joey Alvarez.

    Apart from the film competition and workshop, Power Mac has recently granted 15 aspiring filmmakers a scholarship to  Rebelde Film Camp, a 5-day workshop with the best of the best Philippine cinema icons such as Ricky Lee, Kidlak Tahimik, Lee Briones-Meily, etc. For non-filmmakers, Cinemansanas offers fun-filled activities too.  An in-store activity, held daily, is where you act on the spot and land two free movie tickets.

    Pixelworx is Power Mac Center’s advocacy to merge culture with art and technology. It aims to feature aspiring local artists and provide new avenues for creation.
