Mobility2015 National Drag Racing Championship Southern Series locked for January 31

After opening their 2015 season with the Northern Series at the Clark International Speedway two weeks ago, the National Drag Racing Championship will be moving to the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) this coming January 31 to kickoff the Southern Series.

More than 100 drivers are expected to compete in the series’ four categories; one less than the Northern Series. These are the HotStreet Class, Sportsman Class, Expert Class, and Pro Class. The Super Pro Class was removed because the BRC track is shorter than the standard length.

Some of the crowd favorites include the Hondas of TJ Pangilinan in the CabSpeed Civic EK; Aaron Lao in the MRD Performance Civic EG; and Jackson Go in another EG built by H3 Autoworks. Their rides are expected to go neck and neck with the AWDs of Allan Ararao in the W-Autosport Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 3, teammate Vanni Garcia in the Mitsubishi Cyborg, and reigning champion Jonathan Tiu in the JCT-Blanche Nissan GT-R.

The main event for the Pro Class is expected to be between the brothers Martin and Mark Joseph Manalo of RSL Motorsports; while hotly anticipated in the Expert Class will be the duel between cousins Arvin Millet and Jannery Millet of TEMZ Automart.

Registration for the event begins at 6:30 AM followed by the practice runs at 7:00 AM. The qualifiers will then immediately begin at 9:00 AM and finally, competition at 11:00 AM.

There is a PHP 2,000 entry fee per driver, plus a PHP 300 day license from AAP and PHP 400 covering insurance. Super Pro and Pro Class drivers, must also acquire an AAP National Competition License to join. The full NDRC safety and sporting regulations are available at www.BatangasRacingCircuit.org.

The 2015 National Drag Racing Championship is sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and sponsored by M&H Tires, Sparco, GT Radial, and Aguila Auto Glass.
