    LRPhils. Motors Inc., the official importer-distributor of Land Rover vehicles in the Philippines, launched the newest addition to their growing stable – the new Land Rover Discovery Sport.

    The Discovery Sport is the brand’s newest versatile compact SUV that can be configured to seat up to 7 passengers in a cabin smaller than their traditional 5-seater. Keeping true to the Land Rover legacy, the Discovery Sport is touted to be a versatile vehicle that can be used comfortably not only for work and for play, but also for extreme conditions. Its Active Driveline switches between two and four wheel drive to adjust to current road conditions, with additional settings for when on all-wheel drive.

    The top-of-the-line variant is powered by 2.2-liter DOHC turbo-charged engine that delivers 190Ps @ 3500rpm, and maximum torque of 420Nm @ 1750rpm. The engine is mated to either a ZF 9HP48 9-speed automatic, or a 6-speed manual transmission. To ensure sustainability, the Discovery Sport was designed to be environment-friendly with CO2 emissions as low as 119g.km that is comparable to that of smaller vehicles.2015-LR-Discovery-Sport_186The Discovery Sport boasts of a variety of innovations such as a next generation multi-link rear axle; advanced pedestrian airbag technology; an all-new touchscreen infotainment system; and state-of-the-art high-strength steel and lightweight aluminum body shell for outstanding performance, safety and efficiency. Also new to the Discovery sport is its Head Up Display (HUD) which projects key driving data to an area on the windshield within the driver’s line of sight, for easy access.
