Subaru’s exclusive local disributor Motor Image Pilipinas launched the fifth-generation Subaru Impreza at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show in Pasay.

The all-new Impreza has set a new precedent for all Subaru models in the foreseeable future by being the first to employ the new Subaru Global Platform architecture.

The Impreza was recently awarded the honor of Japan Car of the Year for 2016-2017, combining Subaru’s Boxer Engine, all-wheel drive and signature safety features such as the Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection (SRVD) and steering-responsive headlights. These elements all work under the Global Platform which assures less shake and body roll.

The Impreza will be available in the 2.0i-S four-door variant with a two-liter direct injection naturally aspirated engine, producing 156 ps at 6000 rpm.

In terms of appearance the Impreza embodies Subaru’s “DYNAMIC x SOLID” design philosophy, featuring extended fender flares, a hexagonal grille, and Subaru’s iconic C-shaped headlights. Inside, the car sports detailed stitching on the instrument panels to the 8-inch touchscreen entertainment and navigation system.

“The all-new Subaru Impreza, with the new Subaru Global Platform, is set to pave the way for a new generation of vehicles that will deliver a superior driving experience like no other. There is a growing group of discerning customers in the Philippines who are looking for technology, safety and ride quality in one package, making the new Impreza the perfect partner for the local road conditions,” said Glenn Tan, executive director of Motor Image’s parent company Tan Chong International Ltd.

The new Impreza 2.0i-S is available for booking at all Subaru showrooms across the Philippines and is priced at PHP 1,388,000.
