The 2016 CR-Z is powered by a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine coupled with a compact Integrated Motor Assist Hybrid System (IMA) that results in a combined output of as much as 136 PS and 190.25 NM of torque for manual transmission variants. The CR-Z is equipped with a 3-Mode Drive System – with Normal, ECON, and Sport mode – that provides different levels of performance end efficiency depending on what is required.
Its aerodynamic profile and aggressive styling is complimented with a new sporty grille and front bumpers, LED daytime running lights (DRL), and 17” alloy wheels. It features an “Exciting Mature Cockpit” that includes the new push start system and a 7-inch touchscreen display. The head unit is equipped with navigation features, and also acts as a display for the multi-view camera system.
In lieu of a traditional handbrake, the 2016 CR-Z sports a new electronic parking break which activates the holding mechanism with a push of a button. Another new electronic features are the Active Noise Control (ANC) that muffles sound reduction and the Active Sound Control (ASC) that provides an exciting sporty sound.
The new CR-Z 1.5 IMA will be available in January 2016 with either a 6-speed Manual transmission, or a 7-speed CVT. Available colors are helios yellow pearl (two-tone); milano red (two-tone); prime white pearl (two-tone); brilliant sporty blue metallic; and polished metal metallic on a per-order basis.
