It seems like the AMD train can’t be stopped; just a month after releasing its 3rd generation Ryzen CPU chips, AMD launched its second generation of Epyc server CPUs and they’re better than ever. The new Epyc processors have up to 64 cores—double the previous generation. Using Infinity Fabric technology, AMD has opted to go with Chiplets on a die instead of a single chip, making the most out of the space and with faster compute time. It has an improved DD4-3200 memory bandwidth, and PCI-E Gen4 support with double I/O bandwidth speed (now up to 4 GB/sec bidirectional).
