Poland-based company Brainly announces the official launch of its localized website, www.brainly.ph , which aims to support education in the Philippines.

Brainly is a question and answer portal that allows students from anywhere to inquire about topics related to academics. The points-based system of inquiry rewards users for answering questions comprehensively. They can then use those points to ask questions of their own in different fields of study. Users that provide clear and well-explained answers are rewarded with extra points.

The website is supervised by a group of volunteers—students, professors, parents, and teachers—who check the quality of questions. The “educational social network” aims to unite students from traditional schools and home-schooled children, and to help the problem of unequal access to education.

The "gamified" system of brainly.ph gives incentives to users who answer inquiries. The points they are given can be spent to be able to ask questions of their own.

The startup company has reached 22 million unique users worldwide, with localized versions of the website in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

“We are happy to see how, thanks to the hard work of our team, the idea of social learning is getting to students in all corners of the world,” said Brainly CEO Michal Borkowski.
