TechnologyPressReader updates to v3.0, introduces SmartFlow

PressReader has been updated to version 3.0 with a new flagship feature called SmartFlow, which promises to provide an even  smoother browsing experience.

SmartFlow is dubbed as a “horizontal news-reading feature” that can only be found on PressReader. It essentally provides you a continous stream of stories that have been compressed for easier browsing, and “visual cues” (such as larger images or fonts) point you to content you might have missed if you were reading these publications in the traditional fashion. One great new feature we found useful is the “continue link” arrows found on the bottom of the cropped stories – tapping on it instantly reveals the entire article without having to jump deeper into the publication to find its continuation.

There are a lot of other new features in version 3.0 that include instant switching between SmartFlow and Page View, as well as SmartZoom, which automatically positions the zoomed-in view to the beginning of an article. If you want to know more, you may view NewspaperDirect’s official press release or you can hop on over to their download page in Apple’s App Store.

And if by some wild chance you haven’t heard of PressReader yet, here’s our review.
