Steve Jobs to be honored with a Grammy

TechnologySteve Jobs to be honored with a Grammy

The Special Merit Grammy Awards has rewarded Steve Jobs with a Trustees Award, to recognize his significant contribution to the way he “helped create products and technology that transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books.”

There’s no doubt that Jobs’ creative visions permeated every aspect of our lives, and one can readily observe this with the way the “iPod” has become embedded into our everyday vernacular. Aside from his role in creating the mp3 player that would heavily influence the wants of consumers, Jobs’ is also being honored for his contributions in convincing recording companies to sell their music on iTunes, which has changed the method of distributing and acquiring music today.

The other honorees in the Trustees Award include Dave Bartholomew (musician/composer/arranger), and Rudy Van Gelder (recording engineer).
