Twitter to add Instagram-style photo filters, says NY Times

According to an article by The New York Times based on statements made by Twitter employees, Twitter will soon to allow users to add photo filters to images they upload and/or tweet. The update, according to the report, will be rolled out in the coming months.

We don’t know if this is exactly a useful card for Twitter to draw, seeing as Instagram—the current big player in photo sharing via social media—already allows you to add filters to your images and post them on Facebook and Twitter simultaneously. The update would seem useless to current Instagram users. On the other hand, though, it is a big step for the micro-blogging service to have better photo sharing options. After all, there’s no harm in the company trying to improve its services for the convenience of its users.
