Google is looking for the next Pokemon Master to join their team, and all you need for the challenge is Google Maps.

google pokemonAccording to an official blog post from Tatsuo Nomura, advanced Pokemon master, “Dozens of wild Pokémon have taken up residence on streets, amidst forests and atop mountains throughout Google Maps. To find and catch ‘em all, you’ll need to tap into your inner Pokémon Master.”

In celebration of April Fools, Google partnered with Nintendo to bring us this awesome challenge using Google Maps. If you’re ready to channel your inner Pokemon Master, grab your Pokedex aka as your Android/iOS device, and start catching Pokemon’s! You should be able to find them around popular areas in the world like Central Park in New York. Word is, there are 150 Pokemons available to catch and they all get stored in a Pokedex so you know which ones you’ve caught.

“Leave no stone unturned or city unzoomed as you seek out wild Charizards and Pikachus to add to your Pokédex. Be vigilant—you never know if a wild Steelix will appear in Tokyo, Japan or New York City, USA. And follow Google Maps on Google+, Facebook and Twitter for hints and tips.”

    Happy hunting!
