Apple was just targeted by a hacking attack this week. Their lab guys traced the breech back to a vulnerability within Java. They acted quick and shut said breech down that afternoon, before any damage could be done, but the troubling news is that this vulnerability exists in macs out in the wild now. Apple has, however, released the update to the general public HERE. Since it is a Java thing, you will need to close all web browsers and Java apps so the patch can do its magic, after which, everything should be just fine. The update is also available through the App Store, under the “Updates” tab. Apple has also said that the hackers in question may have been the same ones who targeted Facebook recently, so it would be a good idea to get on this posthaste. While you’re at it, update your iOS device too. You can never be too safe.
