Bridgestone advocating eco-mobility through its ECOmmunity campaign

Bridgestone’s exclusive Philippine Distributor, Philippine Allied Enterprises Corporation (PAEC), held their inaugural Bridgestone ECOmmunity last August 9 and 10 at the Glorietta Activity Center. The weekend was a reaffirmation of the tire company’s commitment towards sustainable mobility. The ECOmmunity campaign saw various Bridgestone activities that showcase their proactive stance in leading motorists, industries, and communities towards environmentally friendly motoring.

The foundations of their green initiative are their products. Recycled and sustainable materials are tapped in the production of tires; renewable energy sources minimize harmful production by-products; and the innovative designs and cutting-edge quality of their tires optimize fuel mileage and cuts mobile emissions.  Additionally, Bridgestone’s state-of-the-art Bandag retreads for transport are built to survive the haggards of daily hauling, thereby having an extended lifespan and minimizing vehicle maintenance cost.

The ECOmmunity weekend also had forums that advocate environmental awareness, motorist safety, and the latest automobile trends. A number of experts shared their wisdom during the event, including JP Tuason from Tuason Racing School (TRS), renowned motoring journalist, James Deakin, Bilstein Philippines President, Alvin Lim, Mr. Miguel Pana from the MMDA, and Chief Engineer of AutoplusSportzentrium Francisco Blanco, just to name a few.

Finally, the local communities that have been visited, developed, and aided by Bridgestone PAEC employees through the years were featured in the Bridgestone Cares exhibit. Tree planting and children’s playground constructions were some of the activities presented.

“To showcase these and further our mission of improving the safety and lives of people everywhere, especially on the road, we have built Bridgestone’s first ever ECOmmunity,” said Marc Tagle, President and CEO of Philippine Allied Enterprises Corporation. “Rest assured that we will continuously strive to provide our customers with the best products and services. We strive to continue our journey in making this world a better place.”
