Globe holds 3rd WWG, announces Globe Cloud, GMovies, Lifestyle Bundles, and partnership with Google Play


 “There are different factors shaping our digital lifestyle, such as the rise of internet penetration, availability of more internet-enabled phones, customization of data packages, and the boost of applications for all uses. Bearing the torch to further ignite the digital revolution in the country, Globe Telecom, on August 22 and 23, held the third Wonderful with Globe event with the theme of “Embracing a Wonderful Digital Life today” at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall.

The 2-day event was the first digital lifestyle expo in the country. It was an upscaled gathering that showcased all things tech—latest trends, gadgets, and applications—which aim to empower the everyday online citizen. Globe is an active advocate of  21st century innovations for Filipinos across the nation be swayed to take part in the growing digital revolution.

Taking into account the skyrocketing relevance of recent technological innovations and digital media in the country, Globe has brought together experts from the media, business, and digital industries to give pertinent insights on how digital innovations have greatly affected people’s daily activities.

On the 22nd, panel discussions and the launch of new Globe services opened the expo exclusively for the media. The Work and Play session discussed how engagements—business or personal—are made more convenient and enjoyable with a host of affordable applications and services.


The panelists included: Spotify Asia managing director, Sunita Kaur; LG Electronics Product marketing manager, Faith Mijares; Zomato Philippines country manager, Anton Ojeda; Manila Bulletin technology editor, Art Samaniego; Globe vice president for Usage, Recon, and Customer Experience Management, Postpaid Business, Debbie Obias; and Globe vice president for Digital Media, Glenn Estrella.

On the one hand, the Create and Share panel session explored Filipinos’ keenness on expressing their ideas by making technology more flexible and adaptable to one’s personal needs.


Trueproperty.ph adviser Nat Segovia, PhoneCo Mobile Technologies (CloudFone) president Eric Yu, Zalora Philippines marketing director Martin Cu, Mobext Philippines marketing manager Trish Elamparo, Globe vice president for Digital Media Glenn Estrella, Globe head of customer communication and Knowledge Management Miggy Dela Cruz, and Globe head of Digital Mobile and Adverstising Bela Gupta comprised the panel of speakers.

On the 23rd, the expo was opened to the public. Netizens were treated to various fun activities, games, new and exclusive offers from Globe brands and partners, and a mini concert featuring Sam Concepcion, Radha, and Morissette Amon.

Bigger and Better Globe Offerings


If you are part of the crowd frustrated at how purchasing premium apps, games, and other utilities is only exclusive to credit card holders, worry no more! Globe has partnered with Google Play to make purchasing  hassle-free.

You can now purchase apps and other services on the Play Store without having to scour for a credit card account, all you have to do is click and purchase—as long as you have a Globe postpaid account or prepaid load. You can enable billing on the payment option after clicking the app you want to purchase.


Globe also introduced the Lifestyle Bundles, which is the company’s latest mobile internet offering that give customers bulk megabytes of data that can be used for browsing specific set of apps and sites, each depending on their preferences. The bundles are as follows: Navigation Bundle, Chat Bundle, Work Bundle, Shopping Bundle, and Photo bundle.


Other innovations announced were the Globe Cloud, a service that allows you to store all your keepsakes on the cloud for easy data syncing, and GMovies, a utility where you can watch trailers, view movie ratings, and book cinema tickets (primarily on all Ayala malls) all in the comfort of one app. Both are available for download on iOS and Android devices, on all networks.
