    Last home stand

Barely a year after the Philippines got its first taste of NBA preseason action with a game between the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets, superstars Paul George and James Harden will again grace the country with their elite basketball skills, this time courtesy of PLDT’s Last HOME Stand.

Earlier this week, the already star-studded line-up was bolstered with the addition of Pacers swingman Paul George. With the inclusion of “The Beard” James Harden (replacing Paul Pierce who is attending to other commitments), there will be no doubt that the Smart Araneta Coliseum will be filled to the rim (yes rim, not brim. Because basketball!) with fans hungry to see the NBA’s best taking on the country’s pride, Gilas Pilipinas.

The Last HOME Stand will be reminiscent of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend with events such as the Dunk Contest, 3-Point Shootout, a basketball clinic, and one of the greatest pick-up games the country will ever see.

George and Harden will be joining Tyson Chandler, Blake Griffin, Kawhi Leonard, Ed Davis, DeMar DeRozan, Nick Johnson, Kyle Lowry, Terrence Ross, Brandon Jennings, and Damian Lillard as the PLDT HOME Fibr All-Stars. Also flying into the country will be Coach John Lucas II, an elite basketball skills development specialist.

Gilas point guard Lewis Alfred Tenorio revealed that they consider the Last HOME Stand as part of their preparations too. “We have to take it seriously for us to be ready for the Worlds. Hopefully, the players can help us improve what we need to improve,” he added.

“It is important for PLDT HOME to be represented in the world of sports as it continues to resonate with parallelisms to real life,” said PLDT executive vice president and head of Home Business Ariel P. Fermin. “As an illustration, the values of the game – togetherness, celebration, sacrifice are also true for a family that aspires to achieve a common ambition. Sports inspire family members to achieve more and move as one. And this is what we do for our national team, Gilas. We give them unwavering support from one home team to another to get as far.”

Ticket prices for this historic event start at Php 750. That’s not a typo. You will be able to watch the best basketball players in the world go head to head for just Php 750. Head over to the event’s page here to find out more about the event.
