Through a media gaming tournament held last night at the Prohibition Lounge at Dillingers in Greenbelt 3, PLDT showcased the abilities of its Dual Core Telpad as a gaming device.

A mini-tournament
Dubbed as “The Telpad Games”, the mini-tournament was co-presented by EA Games, whose three game titles—Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Mass Effect: Infiltration, and Bejeweled 2—were played on the Telpad by members of the local media.
“We had a successful launch of the Dual Core Telpad last July and now we want to show how the Telpad can be used not just for communication but also for entertainment,” said Patrick Tang, Vice President and head of PLDT HOME Voice Solutions.
Tang continued, “Tonight, our aim is to showcase the Telpad as a gaming device with the best games from EA.”
The tournament champion won a San Miguel Beer Party Package and a Dual Core Telpad.
Beefed up for entertainment
Launched in July, the refurbished Telpad sports a dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, and an Android Jelly Bean OS.
All Dual Core Telpad subscribers get two free premium EA game titles from a collection that includes Plants vs Zombies, Monopoly Millionaire, Sim City Deluxe and Dead Space.
Apart from EA Games, Telpad has partnered with two other entertainment content providers: Spinnr and Clickplay. These services gives users free streaming of music and movies, respectively.

“We want to offer the best games, movies, and music so families can do more with their Telpad,” Tang stressed. “Whether for communication, social media or entertainment, the Telpad is the only device each family needs.”
Bundles and offers
The Telpad is also bundled with heyÜ, the exclusive all-in call service app that provides free calls to heyÜ and PLDT landlines, as well as discounted call rates to Smart, Sun, Talk ‘n Text, and international lines.
Each Telpad subscriber can now get up to three Telpads for only PHP 599 a month for each additional unit, which will come with a free internet speed upgrade, a heyÜ number, and limited edition Telpad skins.
