    ArchivesNikon announces the SB-910 Speedlight

Nikon brings us a new flagship Speedlight, the SB-910, with an enhanced graphic interface and “intelligent” features.

The SB-910 now (thankfully) comes equipped with a new operating system and GUI, which boasts a more intuitive interface as opposed to the awkward design that Nikon Speedlights are sometimes known for. It will now consume battery power more efficiently and also features an “enhanced Thermal Cut-Out function”, which acts a safety net against overheating by adjusting recycle times between shots instead of completely powering off the flash. Sounds pretty good, right?

There are also new heat-resistant filters for use under specific lighting conditions, and the SB-910 is “smart” enough to know which one has been equipped, and will automatically adjust white balance whether you’re shooting under incandescent or fluorescent light, which is pretty impressive. It also features three illumination patterns (standard, center-weighted and even) aimed to cater to any shooting situation and help provide the necessary light distribution.

Nikon’s newest flagship flash still offers the zoom-coverage of 17-200mm, and can be protected with optional water guards (for select camera models) to allow you worry-free operation when nature has a temper. It’s expected to be available in the middle of December at a suggested retail price of $549.95 (approx. Php 24,000).
