When we were ten, we were more concerned about who had the most cooties than hacking phones and finding zero day vulnerabilities. Alas, this generation doesn’t appreciate a good ol’ cootie hunt like we used to, and instead spend their time hacking games on mobile devices. Meet CyFi, a 10-year old girl that managed to find a zero day exploit in both iOS and Android devices while playing around with farm-type games. She found the exploit because she was tired of waiting for her plants to grow in real-time, and managed to find a way to trick the hardware in to advancing time faster than normal. CyFi revealed her exploit at Defcon Kids, which aim to foster white hat hacking on children who show the talent.
