The grand celebration kicks off with a motorcade and parade highlighted by street dancing and cultural presentations. This was followed by a Holy Mass and the Ribbon Cutting ceremonies.
The winners of the Apo Art Attack contest were also announced. The contest, which carried the theme: Kulturang Pamana ng Davao or Cultural Heritage of Davao City, was participated by students from various colleges and universities. The winning artworks are currently displayed at the Apo View Lobby.
The festivities continue with a one-of-a-kind fashion show featuring native fabric and Mindanao weave. The event also highlighted a cultural presentation that depicts the evolution of Davao’s cultural heritage. To show solidarity, the Deputy Mayors from 11 tribes in Davao City and the Mutya ng Kidapawan graced the catwalk.
The celebration was capped by a rave party and music festival.
