LG’s 5.5-inch, full-HD followup to their Optimus G, the Optimus G Pro has finally gone official in the firm’s home country of Korea. The Optimus G Pro is slated to go head-to-head with this year’s gigantic 5-inch flagship devices, and boy does it have the hardware to do so. The Optimus G Pro sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display which gives it a pixel density of 400 ppi, putting it in the same league as the HTC Buttefly and the Huawei Ascend D2 as far as screen resolution is concerned.

It’s also one of the first devices to use Qualcomm’s newly minted Snapdragon 600 processor that the company announced during CES at the start of the year, touting a quad-core 1.7GHz processor paired off with 2GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of internal memory on tap which can be further expanded to a further 32GB by a microSD card. The Optimus G Pro will also have a 13-megapixel camera, as well as a inordinately large  3,140mAh removable battery that’s also wireless charging capable. It’ll come with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean when it’s released. Speaking of release dates, Korea will be the first stop of the Optimus G Pro, retailing for 968,000 won, or about Php 36,448 excluding taxes and duties.
