    LG G Flex

Phone manufacturers are constantly trying to one-up each other in the race to crack your piggybanks wide open. LG has been working hard on stepping up the pace, as made clear with both the Nexus 5 and G2, but they haven’t stopped there. The latest addition to their mobile phone stables is the Flex, the world’s first curved and flexible smartphone. We got a glimpse at the device at the 2014 CES, and we’re actually a little excited.

The six inch plastic OLED HD screen on the Flex was designed by LG Display, and the battery, also curved, by LG Chem. The combination of materials and design means you can actually lay the phone on a surface and flatten it, without snapping the thing in half.

While we’re very excited at the news of the Flex coming to our shores, even though there isn’t a definite date of price as of the moment, we’re extremely excited at the kind of tech this phone heralds. It’s going to be a very interesting year for smartphones.

Catch the specs of the Flex after the jump!
