The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) welcomed 32.45 million passengers during the first half of 2026, reinforcing its role as one of the country’s largest intermodal transport hubs.

Since opening in 2018, PITX has recorded cumulative passenger foot traffic of 271.67 million, reflecting continued demand for integrated public transportation connecting Metro Manila with communities across the Philippines.

Growing demand for integrated transport

PITX currently serves an average daily foot traffic of 180,000 passengers while operating 32 city routes and 80 provincial routes. As of June 2026, the terminal had also facilitated 6.52 million vehicle departures, highlighting the continued demand for public transportation services.

“These milestones demonstrate the growing confidence of commuters and transport operators in PITX as the country’s premier transport gateway,” said Mohit Malhi, chief operating officer of PITX. “As passenger demand continues to grow, we remain committed to delivering a world-class transport experience while supporting the country’s goals of improving mobility, strengthening regional connectivity, and driving inclusive economic growth.”

Expanding access to Northern Luzon

During the first half of 2026, PITX expanded its provincial network by introducing new routes to:

  • Laoag, Ilocos Norte
  • Lagangilang, Abra
  • Sta. Ana, Cagayan

According to PITX, the additional routes improve connectivity between Metro Manila and Northern Luzon while supporting tourism, trade, and regional economic activity.

Beyond a transport terminal

PITX said it has evolved into an integrated mobility hub by combining transportation services with retail, dining, and public services in a single location.

Its transport network links provincial buses, city buses, modern jeepneys, and rail systems, enabling more seamless passenger transfers while supporting a more connected urban transport network.

Supporting transport-oriented developments

PITX also serves as the flagship model for Megawide’s transport-oriented development (TOD) strategy, which integrates transport infrastructure with commercial, retail, and community spaces. Building on the PITX model, Megawide is advancing similar integrated transport developments in Baguio and Carmona, Cavite, with the goal of improving regional accessibility while supporting tourism, commerce, and local economic development.

“PITX has shown that transport infrastructure can do more than move people efficiently—it can become a catalyst for investment, tourism, and inclusive growth,” Malhi said. “As we expand our transport-oriented developments, we are committed to creating gateways that not only improve the commuting experience but also contribute to the long-term development of the communities they serve.”

With its expanding route network and growing passenger volume, PITX continues to strengthen its role as a key transport hub while supporting Megawide’s broader vision of integrated mobility infrastructure across the Philippines.

In Summary

PITX recorded 32.45 million passengers during the first half of 2026, bringing cumulative passenger traffic to 271.67 million since opening in 2018. The transport hub also expanded its network with new Northern Luzon routes and continues to serve as the model for Megawide’s transport-oriented developments in other parts of the country.
