HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has announced the arrival of the Nokia C1 and the Nokia 2.3 in the country.
The two budget friendly phones are already available in all Nokia retailers with the Nokia C1 hitting shelves on February 5 and the Nokia 2.3 in Nokia kiosks since January 25.
Nokia C1 is Nokia’s latest foray in the budget smartphone line. It has a 5.45-inch FWVGA+ IPS screen. The Nokia C1 also has a quad-core processor capable of reaching 1.3 GHz, mated to 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 64 GB via a MicroSD slot.
Despite being in the budget category, the Nokia C1 still packs a punch thanks to the light Android 9 Go OS. The OS lets it run the all the usual Android goodies such as YouTube, Maps, and even Navigation, albeit on a lighter and more data friendly version.
The Nokia C1 also has a 5-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel main camera at the rear. It even has a dedicated Google Assistant button for easy access to your digital assistant. The Nokia C1 also boast of a long battery life thanks to its removable 2500 mAh battery.
The Nokia C1 retails for PHP 2,990 and is available in the black color scheme. As part of the launch, Nokia also partnered with Shoppee wherein customers can avail a 10 percent discount for the Nokia C1 from Feb. 5 to Feb. 11. The European brand also offers a 1-year replacement warranty for all Nokia C1 purchases with minor exceptions.
In addition to the Nokia C1, HMD Global also announced the arrival of the Nokia 2.3, the third generation of their budget Nokia 2 series.
The Nokia 2.3 has a MediaTek Helio A22 quad core processor mated to 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of Internal storages. It has a 6.2-inch HD+ screen with a selfie-notch that houses the 5-megapixel selfie camera.
At the back it has a 13-megapixel main camera with a 2-megapixel depth sensor lens. HMD Global also pointed out that the Nokia 2.3 is fitted with more AI capabilities compared to its predecessor. It has the recommended shot feature which lets the phone AI decide which image is the best after shooting your photo. The Nokia 2.3 also has the dedicated Google Assistant button and a non-removable 4000 mAh battery.
The Nokia 2.3 is available in all Nokia retailers and has a retail price of PHP 5,990. It comes in cyan green and charcoal color schemes. Customers who buy the Nokia 2.3 will also receive a Bluetooth speaker and clear case.
