Samsung has finally lifted the curtains on its latest Note smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, as well as other Galaxy devices during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event last August 5.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 / Note 20 Ultra
The Galaxy Note 20 is bigger than ever, now sporting a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, while the premium Note 20 Ultra has a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones also have a bigger battery capacity with the Note 20 now having a 4,300mAh battery and the Note 20 Ultra with a massive 4,500mAh battery. Both have 25W fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging.
The smaller Galaxy Note 20 will have 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage, while the bigger Note 20 Ultra will have a much larger 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage expandable via a MicroSD card slot. Both devices run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ and are 5G enabled.
Both smartphones feature a triple rear-camera setup with the Note 20 having a 64-megapixel hybrid telephoto lens, a 12-megapixel wide lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The Note 20 Ultra, on the other hand, has a 108-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Both have a 10-megapixel front camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra come in three new colorways: mystic black, mystic white, and—what Samsung hopes to be a new color icon of the year—mystic bronze. Pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 starts at PHP 53,990 while the premium Note 20 Ultra starts at PHP 67,990, and PHP 72,990 for the Note 20 Ultra 5G. The phones are now available for pre-order on Samsung’s website and official Samsung resellers. These come with pre-order bundles that include the Galaxy Buds+ for the Note 20 and the new Galaxy Buds Live for the Note 20 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7/ S7+
In addition to the Galaxy Note 20-series, Samsung also announced its latest flagship tablet offering, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+. The tablets were created with the new normal in mind, and have the specs to back it up.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ both run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor with the Tab S7 sporting 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while the S7+ has 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Both are expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 has an 11-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The S7+, meanwhile, has a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED display also with a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung has also created a new book cover and keyboard combo for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 which adds to the productivity of the new Samsung DeX accessible on the tablet even without wiring it to a monitor.
Both the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ have a dual-camera setup on the back with a 13-megapixel main shooter and a 5-megapixel ultra-wide angle secondary camera. The two tablets also have an 8-megapixel front camera. The smaller Tab S7 has a 7,040mAh battery while the S7+ has a larger 10,090mAh battery
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are available starting August 28, 2020 with a retail price of PHP 47,990 and PHP 63,990 respectively.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
Also announced during the Galaxy Unpacked event is the upcoming second generation of its folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, although the full specifications were not disclosed.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will have a larger 6.2-inch front screen and 7.6-inch screen when unfolded. Samsung also revealed that the internal screen will now be built with a custom elastic glass. Changes have been made on the phone hinges, now using the same hinges found on the Z Flip, which allows for more flexibility.
More details of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be announced on September 1, when the phone officially starts pre-orders.
New Galaxy Accessories
Lastly, Samsung revealed two new accessories that will form part of the Galaxy ecosystem—the Galaxy Buds Live and the new Galaxy Watch 3.
The Galaxy Buds Live are Samsung’s newest true wireless earbuds. The buds have a 12mm speaker with a bass duct and active noise cancellation. The Galaxy Buds Live are rated to last up to 8 hours of playback plus an additional 20 hours with the charging case.
The Galaxy Watch 3, meanwhile, is the brand’s newest smartwatch. The Galaxy Watch 3 comes in two sizes 45mm and 41mm. It has an ECG heart monitor, a blood oxygen monitor, and a blood pressure monitor.
Both devices arrive in the Philippines on August 21, 2020.
