SeeSaw 2025: Where Play becomes Art – A Multimedia Arts Seminars & Exhibit

Did you see the one-of-a-kind nostalgic and colorful event for a cause organized by the Bachelor of Multimedia Arts students at Alabang Town Center?

On July 12 and 13, at the mall’s Activity Center, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna’s Bachelor of Multimedia Arts with special participation from Bachelor of Arts in Communication students worked hand in hand to present over a hundred artworks created exclusively for SeeSaw 2025. From thought-provoking installation pieces to the short films and animations screened throughout the weekend, every single creation contributed to bringing back that rush of childhood wonder.

SeeSaw 2025 proved to be more than just a visual celebration by providing an opportunity for learning experiences. The event featured insightful seminars led by guest speakers from various fields within the creative industry. Whether seasoned professionals or emerging artists, each speaker brought a unique perspective that inspired students and guests alike through stories of real-life experience, creative journeys, and artistic passion. Day 1 featured Ken Leviste, a filmmaker, educator, and creative entrepreneur, with award-winning films and a passion for multimedia storytelling and Albert Raqueño, an illustrator whose work captures the quiet beauty of everyday life with warmth, color, and sentimentality. On Day 2, the visionary photographer Enzo Santos took the stage, sharing how he captures culture through fashion, music, and raw human connection in his iconic work for top magazines and Jan Arkin, the mind behind Arkin Animations, inspired and entertained as he opened up about his creative process and how he found the stories woven through their animated works.

Beyond the seminars, there was also a more hands-on learning opportunity through the Watercolor and Lettering workshops. On Day 1, Patti Ramos brought her expertise to the Watercolor workshop while Day 2 had Naomi Tayao guide event-goers through the art of Lettering workshop. Attendees of the workshops ended up bringing home not just knowledge of a new skill, but also the masterpieces that they made themselves.

SeeSaw 2025 was also dedicated to creating impactful changes beyond the event itself. The event proudly supported two beneficiaries dedicated to nurturing the youth: Angat Kabataan – San Pedro, a youth-led nonprofit focused on leadership and volunteerism, and and SOS Children’s Villages Pilipinas, the world’s largest organization ensuring vulnerable children grow up with the care and support they need. During the event, representatives from the organizations took the stage to share their mission to uplift the youth that will become future artists, giving attendees a deeper understanding of how art and community go hand in hand. Their voices inspired many to look into how we can each make a difference, proving that creativity can spark real-world change.

Every corner of the creative playground held something new to discover. Artist booths by Overprint, Kim, Mink, and Geibbu filled the space with prints, stickers and colorful collectibles. There were even live portraits sketched on the spot by one of the event’s guest speakers, Albert Raqueño. Right alongside them, sponsor booths from Createev Designs and Guhit Kamay offered handcrafted keepsakes and paintings, each carrying its own story to discover. And of course, Don Antonio’s completed the scene with their signature baked goods and cookies, adding a sweet touch to the experience.

No creative event would be complete without bringing home a little piece of the fun. SeeSaw’s own merch corner was filled with t-shirts, stickers, and prints starring everyone’s favorite mascot, Emma. A standout favorite? The Dino merch collection, which brought a playful pop of nostalgia with its colorful, whimsical designs. It was an instant hit among attendees, winning over both kids and grown-ups alike.

Each item not only offered a tangible connection to the overall event’s heart and theme, but also helped support a greater cause. Proceeds from the event’s merchandise went directly to SeeSaw 2025’s beneficiaries, making sure that the creative energy and community built throughout the event continues to ripple outward.

The event reminded us how creativity can reconnect us to the simple joys of youth. This concept is interwoven throughout the entire two-day experience, creating pockets of memories shared and cherished through the event’s seminars and exhibits. Families, friends, and guests of all ages came together in a celebration of artistic expression and personal growth.

In the end, SeeSaw 2025 stood as a heartfelt tribute to the connection between who we are now and the dreamers we once were. With each piece, each talk, and each experience, artists invited us to look at the world through the eyes of wonder, joy, and hope, reminding us that there is always room for creativity, growth, and above all, play.
