TikTok has collaborated with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-National Capital Region on a special edition of TikTok Content Camp, its flagship learning initiative. The program equipped aspiring entrepreneurs, job seekers, and other participants with practical digital skills that could help them explore alternative sources of income through content creation, livestreaming, and social commerce.
The collaboration supports government efforts to strengthen the Philippine digital economy by expanding access to future-ready skills. As digital platforms continue to reshape how people learn, work, and earn, TikTok and TESDA aim to help more Filipinos participate in emerging online opportunities.
Building skills for the digital economy

“The digital economy is creating new opportunities for Filipinos to build businesses, develop new skills, and earn a livelihood,” said Yves Gonzalez, head of public policy for the Philippines at TikTok. “Through this collaboration with TESDA, TikTok is bringing practical, industry-relevant training to more learners and empowering them to participate in the digital economy, build sustainable livelihoods, strengthen their communities, and contribute to the country’s inclusive growth.”
TESDA said digital capabilities are becoming increasingly important across industries and should complement traditional technical training. The collaboration therefore combines vocational skills development with practical knowledge in content creation, livestreaming, and social commerce.
“Digital skills are becoming increasingly essential across industries and TESDA’s role is to make sure every Filipino is equipped to succeed in this rapidly changing environment,” said Eugene P. Agcaoili, center administrator of TESDA RTC-NCR. “TikTok Content Camp allows us to complement technical training with knowledge in content creation, livestreaming, and social commerce, creating new opportunities for entrepreneurship and sustainable growth.”
“Together with TikTok, we look forward to making skills development more accessible and responsive to the changing needs of the Philippine economy,” he added.
Hands-on training in content creation
Participants took part in interactive learning sessions designed to provide practical knowledge and tools for navigating opportunities in the digital economy. The program opened with an introduction to CapCut, covering the fundamentals of video editing, content packaging, and techniques for producing engaging short-form videos.
The sessions then moved to TikTok LIVE, where participants explored the Philippine livestreaming landscape, emerging content niches, audience engagement, and potential monetization opportunities. They also learned how TikTok LIVE agencies support creators and businesses as they develop their content and grow their audiences.
Exploring social commerce opportunities
The program concluded with content best practices for TikTok Shop Creator Affiliates. Participants learned strategies for social commerce and how creators can use content to connect products with prospective customers.
TikTok said it will continue working with government agencies, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders on digital upskilling initiatives. These efforts are intended to give more Filipinos the tools, knowledge, and confidence to participate in an increasingly digital economy while supporting broader inclusive growth.
