2021 GOOD DESIGN Awards: Top Honors in the Transportation Category
Two Kia models recently bagged the top honors in the ‘Transportation’ category. The all-new Carnival and the EV6 were awarded for their bold and elegant designs.
“Securing these GOOD DESIGN awards is an endorsement of the approach we took with the styling of the Kia EV6 and Kia Carnival,” said Karim Habib, head of Kia Design Center. “We are determined to ensure Kia keeps challenging the boundaries of automotive design.”
GOOD DESIGN is one of the oldest and most prestigious design competitions in the world. Each year, they recognize innovators and products that aim to push the boundaries of design, function, and sustainability.
2021 IIHS: Top Safety Pick Award
The all-new Carnival (US specs) also received the Top Safety Pick Award in the Minivan category from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The model was applauded for its superior crash avoidance and mitigation systems.
The IIHS is a globally-respected organization that champions road safety through intense research and careful evaluation. To qualify for an award, models must earn high safety ratings in different criteria. The Carnival received top marks in all of them.
And Kia’s Award-Winning Streak Doesn’t Stop There!
The Carnival was also named the 2022 “Family Vehicle of the Year” by AutoGuide, a US-based automotive media group trusted by millions globally. Among the hundreds of models driven and tested, the Carnival stood out for its spectacular interior capacity, advanced safety features, and stylish design.
In addition, it was awarded as one of the ‘Best New Cars for 2022’ by online auto marketplace AutoTrader, whose executive editor Brian Moody praised the model’s high-quality design and overall value.
Finally, the annual Newsweek Autos Awards named it the Best Minivan. It won for its dynamic performance, luxurious interior, advanced safety features, and overall design.
Aside from the Carnival, the Kia EV6 was hailed as 2022 Car of the Year in the prestigious European Car of the Year Awards. Indeed, Kia has firmly established itself as an innovative and inspiring award-winning brand.
