The new ownership program gives Nammi and Vigo customers longer preventive maintenance intervals, while new owners also receive extended battery and vehicle warranties.

Dongfeng Motors Philippines has introduced PROTECH, a new ownership program designed to reduce maintenance frequency and provide longer warranty coverage for its Nammi and Vigo electric vehicles.

The program was formally introduced on August 21, 2026, to members of the Nammi EV Owners Club Philippines, giving existing owners an early look at the revised service schedule and the additional ownership benefits that will apply to new customers.

Longer preventive maintenance intervals

New Nammi and Vigo owners receive a 10-year unlimited-mileage battery warranty and a five-year bumper-to-bumper vehicle warranty under the PROTECH program.

Under PROTECH, current Dongfeng Nammi and Vigo owners will move to a revised Preventive Maintenance Service schedule requiring servicing every 18 months or 15,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.

Dongfeng says the extended interval is based on operational experience and is intended to reduce the amount of time owners spend at service centers while also lowering the frequency of routine maintenance. The company says the change was made without compromising vehicle reliability, safety, or performance.

“This change is not something we made lightly. The updated maintenance schedule is based on operational experience, allowing us to extend the service interval while continuing to maintain vehicle reliability, safety, and performance,” said Rollie Navarro, sales director of Dongfeng Motors Philippines.

New owners get longer warranty coverage

New Nammi and Vigo customers will receive the full PROTECH ownership package, which combines the revised maintenance interval with a 10-year unlimited-mileage battery warranty and a five-year bumper-to-bumper vehicle warranty.

Dongfeng is positioning the warranty package as a way to give customers greater assurance over the long-term ownership of its EVs. The 10-year battery coverage is intended to reinforce confidence in battery durability, while the five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty provides broader protection for new-vehicle owners.

“We care about the value proposition we provide with every car you purchase. With PROTECH, we will continue to innovate and work on ways to give our customers greater value and a better ownership experience,” said Giovanni Frias, vice president for sales and operations of Dongfeng Motors Philippines.

Ownership beyond the initial purchase

PROTECH forms part of the brand’s broader effort to improve the EV ownership experience through longer service intervals, extended coverage, and stronger aftersales support.

“The future of ownership isn’t just about selling an electric vehicle. It’s about standing behind every kilometer our customers drive,” said Brennan Lim, deputy CEO of Dongfeng Motors Philippines.

“PROTECH reflects our confidence in the quality and reliability of the Vigo and Nammi while reinforcing our promise to deliver an ownership experience that is convenient, dependable, and built for the long term. As we continue to grow our presence in the Philippine EV market, we remain committed to continuously enhancing the value we provide to every customer.”
