The 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) has officially opened at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, marking another milestone for what has become the country’s premier automotive exhibition. Organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), this year’s event gathers 17 automotive brands under the theme ‘Forward in Every Drive.’
Now celebrating its 10th edition, PIMS reflects the continuing evolution of the automotive industry as manufacturers balance traditional internal combustion vehicles with an expanding range of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric offerings.
A Platform for Industry Progress
The opening ceremony brought together automotive executives, government officials, industry stakeholders, media representatives, and automotive enthusiasts to highlight the role of mobility in the country’s economic development.
Guest of Honor Patrick Aquino, director of the Energy Utilization and Management Bureau of the Department of Energy, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between government and industry to support innovation and improve transportation solutions for Filipino consumers.
CAMPI President Jing Atienza likewise underscored the industry’s commitment to developing mobility solutions that are increasingly responsive to the needs of modern motorists.
New Models and Electrified Technologies Take Center Stage
Across the exhibition halls, visitors were greeted by a diverse mix of vehicle launches, concept previews, electrified models, and interactive brand experiences.
Among the highlights were the debut of the all-new Nissan X‑Trail e‑POWER, the launch of the MG RX9 PHEV, and the unveiling of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
Toyota drew attention with the Philippine premiere of the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ and the new Toyota Hilux, while Subaru expanded its electrified lineup with the Crosstrek e‑BOXER Hybrid.
Electrification remained a dominant theme throughout the show, with brands showcasing battery electric, hybrid, and plug‑in hybrid technologies.
Beyond Vehicle Displays
PIMS 2026 extends beyond traditional vehicle exhibits through technology demonstrations, interactive activities, test drives, financing offers, and aftermarket showcases.
