Bermaz Auto Philippines Inc., the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the country,  announces the arrival of the latest 2018-model year MX-5 sports roadster.

New for the 2018 MX-5 Soft Top line is the limited edition Dark Cherry fabric canopy which comes exclusively with the six-speed SKYACTIV automatic transmission variant. Customers now also have the signature Mazda Machine Gray color as an option for the Soft Top MX-5. Mazda’s newest shade of red – Soul Red Crystal – is now also available in select variants. Also among the primary mechanical improvements for the 2018 MX-5 are its refined rear suspension tuning and the re-tuned power steering system in the Soft Top variant. These upgrades ensure even more agile handling and improved ride comfort for the lightweight roadster. Along with its classic sports car styling, the MX-5’s 2018 features are set to enhance the iconic status of the already superb and highly sought after model.

With the arrival of the 2018 edition of Mazda’s premium two-seat roadster, driving enthusiasts now also get an additional powertrain selection to choose from. The six-speed manual SKYACTIV transmission is now an available option for the 2018 MX-5 Retractable Fastback.

Combined with the reassurance of a solid hard top, the manual gearbox-equipped MX-5 RF promises a more engaging experience for those who love to be actively involved in the act of driving. Nappa Leather remains an option for the automatic transmission variant of the MX-5 RF, while black leather is standard for the manual.

Also new for 2018 are additional safety features across the model range. All 2018 MX-5 RF variants are now equipped with Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH) which feature automatic control of headlight aim and intensity based on ever-changing driving conditions. This is also a standard feature for the automatic transmission variant of the MX-5 Soft Top. Lane Departure Warning, which alerts drivers if they begin to stray out of the lane they are on, now comes standard in the 2018 MX-5 RF line as well as in the automatic Soft Top variant.

“Mazda Philippines is continuously providing driving enthusiasts the latest offerings of the world’s most popular sports car – the MX-5,” shares BAP president and CEO Steven Tan.
