Striking silver twice in the second leg of the  Eneos Philippine Motorsports Championships held at the Clark International Speedway last June 3-4, 2017, the 4S1M-Yamaha Racing Team, powered by BRT and Racing force, sought redemption from April’s previous leg. Key players which brought success to the  team were Herbert Lopez and Mark DJereck Ondillo who raced in the 150CC Underbone King and the 115CC Underbone Riding Mega Force categories.

Recovering from the  previous leg held in Batangas,  the team ensured that they came more than prepared for the succeeding Motorsports Championship race. Specially  fined tuned 150CC Sniper bikes motorbikes and the 160CC Mio scooters were equipped with impressive race-spec parts that  included the 4S1M fuel-injected engines, Replica PRO racing pipes, Nissin brakes and brake pads, and custom Racing Boy grips and FDR tires.

Fined tuned equipment were likewise joined with tactical preparations for  abrupt weather changes and Clark’s longer track. Anticipating conditions that required further tune-ups and tweaking, chief mechanic Joji San Victores shared said,  “We spent a lot of time and sleepless nights preparing.”  He later added, “We took the lessons from last leg and applied the improvements here.”

The second leg of the Eneos Philippine Motorsports Championships saw two days of intense competition and inconsistent weather.  The first day ultimately  determined actual racing positions for the actual race the  succeeding day. Albeit a proud team, determined positions caused  initial apprehensions. Despite having a slow but steady start during the second day’s race, the determined team managed to overcome the fierce competition which later  translated to a  second place finish.

“These were good wins. We need to use this momentum to carry us through the rest of the season”, said team manager Ronal Uy.

The third leg is scheduled for July 8-9 at the Batangas Racing Circuit. The 4S1M-Yamaha Racing Team, powered by BRT and Racing force is hopeful for another victory.
